Xenaris
Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2, 2026
What the extension does
The Xenaris Chrome extension lets Xenaris account holders check the website in their current browser tab against their Xenaris M&A research coverage, add companies to their Always-On monitor, and start research scans.
Data the extension collects
- Current tab URL (domain only): read only at the moment you click the extension icon, and sent to the Xenaris backend solely to look up coverage or submit the action you chose. The extension never reads pages, browsing history, or tabs in the background.
- Extension key: a per-user API key you generate in your Xenaris account, stored in Chrome's extension storage on your device. Only a cryptographic hash is kept on our servers. You can revoke it at any time from your Xenaris account page.
- Your inputs: optional thesis notes and research-focus selections you type into the popup are sent to Xenaris only when you press an action button.
What we do not collect
- No browsing history, page contents, cookies, or keystrokes.
- No data from tabs you don't explicitly check.
- No analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts inside the extension.
How data is used and shared
Data sent by the extension is used exclusively to provide the Xenaris service to your account: coverage lookups, Always-On monitoring, and scan submission. It is processed under the same terms as data you submit in the Xenaris web app. We do not sell or share extension data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising or creditworthiness purposes.
Data retention and control
Coverage lookups are logged in your account's audit trail. Scans and monitors you create are part of your Xenaris account data and can be managed in the app. Disconnecting the extension (or revoking the key from your account page) immediately disables its access; removing the extension deletes the locally stored key.
